Celebrating World Population Day

Established by the United Nations in 1989, World Population Day brings attention to the health, development, and environmental impacts of rapid population growth. The focus of this year’s World Population Day is “the sexual and reproductive health needs and vulnerabilities of women and girls during the pandemic.”

A summer reading list fit for the times

Population Education's annual summer reading list is more relevant than ever. This year's list includes titles that range in topic from an eerily appropriate classic, to government policies that enforced racial segregation, to dinosaurs...and more!

See what staff are currently reading during this season of upheaval, and add a few of these books to your own socially-distanced reading list.

Summer Speaker Series: July

This week, Drs. Rodrigo Barillas and Michelle Dubon of WINGS Guatemala spoke to Population Connection members and activists about their unique and impactful approach to reproductive health throughout Guatemala. As direct service providers, they reflected on the impact that Covid-19 has had on the provision of care and how their organization has adapted to the ongoing pandemic. WINGS is a Guatemalan-based non-profit that provides quality reproductive health education and services to primarily indigenous Guatemalans.

Rodrigo is the Executive Director of WINGS and a member of Population Connection's board of directors. Watch the recording of their interesting and informative presentation!
