Tomorrow is the 1st of November; it's also the first day without funding for incredibly important programs and the first missed paycheck for some federal employees. Unfortunately, due to the Democrats' hostage taking, I have the duty to inform you of which programs will be affected. The following programs are scheduled to have a lapse in funding:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)—which provides food assistance that more than 40 million people rely on—will start to run out of money Saturday. Resources on Government Shutdown frequently asked questions for SNAP recipients can be found HERE.
- Federal funding will stop for early childhood education programs at Head Start, which support 800,000 children under the age of six.
- The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will have a lapse in funding.
- The Essential Air Service—which provides airline service to small and often rural communities—is scheduled to run out of money as well. This likely will have implications on service and commerce in their communities as well.

One of the most, if not the MOST, important goals I have in my time in office is to provide the best customer service imaginable. I want to communicate with you all in the most effective ways and find the best avenues to keep you updated on my work in Washington and in Oklahoma. That being said, we will be taking a brief pause from the newsletter during the month of November to transition to a new outreach service. You'll still be able to see my updates on social media (all accounts are linked below), contact my office for anything, and have an opportunity to make your voice heard. I look forward to reaching out to you in a new format in December. Thank you for understanding.
