Republicans are willing to let people's healthcare premiums skyrocket and let kids and families go hungry, just to protect their tax cuts for billionaires.
This isn't just unsustainable. This is wrong.
In the wealthiest country in the world, no one should have to worry about affording medical care, period. No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. Our people should have their basic needs met.
Democrats are asking for just that: A spending bill that reopens the government and pays all military service members and federal employees and contractors what they are owed, and that restores Obamacare tax credits and subsidies to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance.
If we can make tax breaks permanent for billionaires, we can certainly do the same for hardworking Americans.
John, I will never give in. I promise to keep the faith and hold the line.
But, in the meantime, we MUST work to prevent Republicans from having the power to make these catastrophic decisions.
