Public Advisory: Understanding the Risks of Medi-Spas and Aesthetic Procedures

While Medi-spas and aesthetic treatments can offer cosmetic benefits, it's important to be aware of the risks involved. Procedures like Botox, fillers, laser treatments and IV hydration therapy should always be performed by licensed medical professionals in a safe environment. Infections, scarring, and serious complications can occur when procedures are done improperly or without appropriate medical oversight. Always

* Make sure the person treating you is licensed
* Expect to have an assessment of your current health conditions,
* Ask questions about the risks and benefits, and
* Ask to review medications for labels in English and check the expiration dates.

Prioritize your safety over cost or convenience.
