Hi John,
This Halloween, fear feels different.
It’s not the kind that comes from haunted houses or scary movies — it’s the kind that comes from living in a country where gun violence has become an everyday reality.
It’s been a terrifying year for too many families. Children are afraid to go to school. Parents holding their breath when their kids don’t text back. Communities shattered, again and again. And what’s most haunting is how easy it has become for our leaders to look away.
But fear isn’t the whole story. All across the country, young people are refusing to accept this as our future. We’re showing up, organizing, voting, creating art, and building power — turning grief and anger into something stronger: courage.
Because what’s truly scary isn’t what’s hiding in the dark. It’s doing nothing while lives are lost in the light of day.
With courage,
March For Our Lives
