** Have a happy and heated Halloween, made possible by American energy producers.
------------------------------------------------------------
Institute for Energy Research ([link removed]) (10/31/25) blog: "Halloween, scares galore, can be considered Neo-Malthusian Day. Maybe April Fools’ Day, too, if you count the half-century-old errant predictions of doomsday, including climate change, which President Biden’s teleprompter said was an 'existential threat to all of us.' Anti-humanistic agendas, power-seeking, money-making, and speculative modeling are responsible for the exaggeration, the alarm, that trumps sober reality. Despite the vast statistics on human betterment — both in the growing number of lives and the quality of life — the Monsters of Doom are not dissuaded. In 'Underestimating the Challenges of Avoiding a Ghastly Future' (2021), for example, Paul Ehrlich et al. doubled down, claiming that negative environmental trends 'will be much more dangerous than currently believed,' so much so that 'It is difficult to grasp for even well-informed
experts.' Experts? How about Expert Failure? With a wounded climate movement meeting in two weeks in Brazil for the UN Conference of Parties (COP 30), expect ever more shrill statements about Climate Armageddon. Fear not. A simple review of quotations from climate leading voices then and now is just a trick-or-treat moment...Halloween is for fear mongers. Let every other day be for economic and political freedom from an intellectual/political elite that aims to control the rest of us. May the future belong to human ingenuity for human betterment in freedom, not to haunted thoughts of a soulless march on the road to serfdom."

** "The Biden administration’s 2022 NPR-A Integrated Activity Plan was one of the most blatant examples of federal overreach we’ve seen in Alaska in decades."

If anything can thaw U.S.-Sino relations, it will be American natural gas.

** E&E News ([link removed])
(10/31/25) reports: "Beijing has expressed interest in purchasing natural gas from a proposed export facility in Alaska, President Donald Trump said Thursday after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. China has 'agreed that they will begin the process of purchasing American Energy,' Trump wrote on Truth Social following the bilateral meeting in South Korea. 'In fact, a very large scale transaction may take place concerning the purchase of Oil and Gas from the Great State of Alaska. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will continue the negotiations 'to see if such an Energy Deal can be worked out,' Trump added. Chinese investment in the proposed Alaska gas development could help bring to fruition a $44 billion project that has barely progressed since it was first pitched more than a decade ago. The project's backers have struggled to sign the long-term supply contracts needed to start building the export plant they've planned for the state's south coast and
the pipeline required to bring it gas from Alaska's North Slope. The Trump administration has heavily boosted Alaska LNG, calling it necessary for national security."

An administration serious about American energy security.

** Oil Price ([link removed])
(10/31/25) reports: "The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has approved a controversial proposal by Canadian oil and gas giant Enbridge (NYSE:ENB), to reroute an aging oil pipeline around a Wisconsin tribal reservation, saying the project 'complied with all applicable federal laws and regulations.' Enbridge proposed the 41-mile reroute to remove the pipeline off land held by the Bad River Band after a court ordered in 2023 that the pipeline should be removed from the tribal land by June 2026. The judge also ordered Enbridge to pay the tribe over $5 million for trespassing. The ruling was based on the tribe's arguments that the 70-year-old pipeline poses a significant environmental risk due to erosion, and that the company lacks a valid right-of-way for those sections of the pipeline. Enbridge’s proposal to reroute the pipeline around the reservation has, however, been met with opposition from the Bad River Band and environmental groups who argue it does not meet water quality standards and
could still cause environmental damage. President Donald Trump ordered the corps to fast-track the project in April, and the approval moves the $500 million-plus project closer to construction."

A green faux pas is when someone mistakenly tells the truth.

** Wall Street Journal ([link removed])
(10/28/25) op-ed: "The Trump administration scored a major victory on Oct. 17 by sinking what would have been the world’s first global carbon tax at the United Nations’ International Maritime Organization. But an equally insidious carbon tax has been quietly advancing in county courthouses across the U.S. in the form of climate lawfare targeted almost exclusively at American industry. The Supreme Court has an opportunity to stop it...Essentially the tort liability is an indirect carbon tax,' Mr. Bookbinder said. 'You sue an oil company. An oil company is liable. The oil company then passes that liability on to the people who are buying its products. . . . I would prefer an actual carbon tax, but if we can’t get one of those—and I don’t think anyone on this panel would agree that Congress is likely to take on climate change anytime soon so this is a rather, you know, somewhat convoluted way to achieve the goals of a carbon tax.'"
