Folks, Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is not immune from subpoenas about his personal finances, but also blocked the House from accessing those finances for the foreseeable future. While these rulings may seem contradictory, here’s why yesterday was a win: The Supreme Court ruled, once and for all, that Donald Trump is not above the law. And not just that — Trump’s own appointees, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, sided with liberal justices to hold him accountable. Our grassroots organizing is working, folks. But we haven’t won yet, and we can’t let up the pressure now. Can you rush a contribution in right now to support my work to hold President Trump accountable to the American people?
Look, this is not an issue of Democrats versus Republicans. This is about setting the standard, from the very top of our government, that transparency and accountability matter. This is about ensuring the President is not above the law — no matter how hard he may try to pretend he is. I have been holding Donald Trump accountable to the people from day one. I was proud to be one of the first members of Congress to call for the President’s impeachment for abuse of power, and I will continue to do all I can to ensure that our leaders are held to the highest standards of conduct and law.
Thank you, — Yvette
