Scott's impact in Congress
When Scott was our Congressman, he sat on the Appropriations Committee, responsible for assigning Congressional funding. Taylor was the first Virginian freshman Congressperson to serve on that critically important committee. After all, nothing happens in Congress without funding!

Taylor advocated for our region in Congress, and his position on Appropriations allowed him to bring important, positive results to Hampton Roads. Taylor saw that flooding - a major, common issue in our area - was preventing military readiness...he identified a solution.

Here is some of Scott Taylor's legislative language that is now law:

"Flooded roads frequently prevented [our military] from reaching the base, but there was no reasonable way to fix the issue."

"Department of Defense program that allows military installations and defense industry sites to use their yearly funding to address transportation issues on roads leading into or out of their location."

This legislation works as Scott intended: to protect our local military bases, which are large economic drivers in our region and essential to our national security.

Scott always identified a problem, identified a solution, and put politics aside in order to improve the lives of Virginians.
Meanwhile...
it has been 12 days since Scott challenged Elaine Luria to multiple debates.

"Our community deserves to be informed and to receive direct and transparent responses from us. I challenge Elaine Luria to engage in at least 3 debates. All 3 debates should be televised and should be throughout the district: one on the Eastern Shore, one on the Southside, and one on the Peninsula.”

And what has Elaine's response been? Unsurprisingly, she remains silent. She still has not accepted the invitation to participate in debates. Our district deserves better.
