Hi John,
Didn’t catch our latest webinar, “Alternatives to Anti-Abortion Pregnancy Centers”? No problem! You can still explore the meaningful impact of pro-abortion groups combatting the work of anti-abortion organizations. Anti-abortion pregnancy centers have long misleadingly represented themselves as comprehensive health care clinics, but they exist to dissuade people from having abortions. Together, let’s uplift the pro-abortion heroes providing real mutual aid to abortion seekers without a hidden agenda.

Check Out What’s Going on This Month:

Trans Liberation is Reproductive Justice
As heightened surveillance and attacks on federal funding drastically ramp up, it’s clear that anti-abortion organizations are working to systematically strip rights to bodily autonomy. At its core, the right to abortion encompasses a collective struggle for fundamental health care. Last month, we published a blog post about the intersection of trans justice and reproductive justice movements, calling out the blatant overlap of anti-trans and anti-abortion discourse in both movement spaces and legislative advocacy. With election cycles and budget decisions around the corner, it’s crucial we stay informed on the strategic attacks of both abortion care and gender-affirming care.

Self-Care
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for October:
-
Date yourself! Whether you're single or in a relationship, taking yourself on a date is a great form of self-care. Just like setting a date with someone else, make solid plans of where you're taking yourself and what date/time. Coffee dates, farmer's market dates, or walk around the park dates are all great examples I've tried. You have the ability to make yourself feel special always! – Annie, Senior Special Projects Coordinator
-
Do a puzzle! I recently picked up a book of easy-to-medium difficulty crosswords at my local bookshop and treated myself to some cute pencils and erasers, too. Doing puzzles by hand is a great way to avoid screens while also keeping my brain engaged. Plus, it's easier to do a puzzle with a friend when you're working together on paper, too. – Andrea, Senior Vice President of Research
-
Dance as a sacred being. This month I’m honoring myself by deepening my connection to my lineage through dance. Try exploring a bit of ancestral dancing, with whatever form that shows up for you and through that movement we can feel and release grief, love, and everything in between. – Jacqueline, Senior Outreach Coordinator
