Dear Friend,
This one makes me sick to my stomach.
Officer Jovanny Crespo is sitting in prison for doing exactly what he was trained to do: protect the public and stay alive.
He’s been sentenced to 27 years behind bars because he dared to defend himself against an armed suspect who tried to kill him.
Let that sink in: 27 years for doing his job.
HELP FIGHT FOR OFFICER CRESPO’S FREEDOM
Back in 2019, Crespo was just 26 years old when he responded to a dangerous pursuit in Newark, New Jersey.
The suspect, a career criminal with a gun, fled a traffic stop, nearly ran Crespo over, and pointed a loaded semi-automatic weapon right at him.
In that split-second moment between life and death, Crespo made the call every good officer hopes they’ll never have to make—he acted to protect himself, his fellow officers, and innocent lives.
But instead of being praised, he was indicted, convicted, and thrown in prison.
His four children are growing up without their father–waiting, hoping, and praying that justice will prevail.
This is a tragedy. And it’s a warning to every police officer in America:
Defend yourself, and you’ll be the one behind bars.
STAND WITH OFFICER CRESPO NOW
The National Center for Police Defense is standing by Jovanny and his family, helping fund his appeal and supporting them through this nightmare.
But the truth is, his family can’t survive this fight without help from patriots like you.
Officer Crespo risked his life for the safety of others.
Now we must fight for
his
life, his
freedom,
and his
future.
Please help us continue this battle for justice!
Your gift brings us one step closer to reuniting a hero with his family.
For justice,
Sheriff Joe Arpaio
