There is not a single reputable scientist or public health expert who would describe our nation's COVID-19 resurgence as "doing fine" or "under control." In fact, the complete opposite is true as the confirmed cases count surpasses three million and many states hit the brakes on their reopening plans.

Yet Trump continues to ignore the deadly reality of this pandemic. And now he's threatening to cut funding for any public schools that don't recklessly reopen this fall. Even worse is his erroneous assertion that remote or partially remote learning alternatives are somehow politically motivated.
