Friend, Since Halloween’s right around the corner, I’ll tell you what’s really scaring me this year: the thought of House Republicans holding onto their majority next year. Because if Donald Trump gets to spend the second half of his term with more unchecked power – with a House still run by Speaker Mike Johnson and his rubber-stamp majority – the consequences for our democracy will be terrifying. We’ve already seen what happens when extremists call the shots: they gut health care and attack vaccines; defund public education and Head Start; and give Donald Trump unchecked power that threatens our democracy. We can stop them, but only if we build the resources now to fight back and win next November. If you believe in a Congress that works for the people – not Donald Trump – will you chip in before our end-of-the-month deadline on Friday night?
