The Blue Book
Welcome to The Blue Book! This is our last edition before Election Day on November 4th. The DGA is ready to elect two new Dem govs in Virginia and New Jersey next week, and we’re fired up for the 36 more races that are on the ballot next year!

We know you receive a lot of emails, but this one is different. The Blue Book is your guide to highlight Dem govs delivering for their states – and as we approach the first big elections of Donald Trump’s second term, it’s never been more important to stay informed about current events across the country.

Grassroots Democrats are an essential part of our team and our winning strategy. If you know how important this work is, will you rush 3 to the DGA right now before reading? With less than a week until Election Day, your support is needed in this moment.

In The States
North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein announced over $6.5 billion in medical debt relief for over 2.5 million people in the last year through his state’s Medical Debt Relief Program.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul all announced plans to help their states during the Republican government shutdown – ranging from providing resources for federal workers to bolstering programs to make sure people have enough to eat.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee, and Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson launched the Governors Public Health Alliance, a coalition of governors working together to safeguard public health, strengthen preparedness, and expand coordination across state lines with the global health community.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul,Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson all announced multi-million dollar economic investments in their states and communities, creating hundreds of new jobs.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed two bipartisan bills into law that will increase funding for emergency medical services across Wisconsin.
On the Trail
Abigail Spanberger kicked off her Virginia Votes Bus Tour, where she’ll be traveling the state in the final stretch before Election Day to share her focus on putting working families first as governor by lowering costs, growing the economy, and making sure Virginia’s schools are the best in the nation.
And in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill started early voting strong and has been rallying with top Democrats from her state and across the country!
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro joined numerous other leading Democrats to get out the vote for Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill!
Online & On the Air
In an MSNBC interview with Jen Psaki, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer touted the Michigan budget she signed into law. It provides free school meals for 1.4 million students in her state, gives retirement tax relief and puts money back into folks’ pockets.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz joined former Rep. Gabby Giffords and called for an assault weapons ban during the first in a series of town halls, where he vowed to take action against gun violence and help bring the issue to the ballot box.
In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom deployed the National Guard to assist California food banks amid the GOP shutdown to make sure families are fed as SNAP benefits are set to expire Nov. 1st.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker called out Donald Trump for abusing his power by sending troops to Chicago. Now, after suing the Trump administration, a district court has temporarily blocked National Guard deployment to the Chicago area.
