You may or may not remember the dark days of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, the policy that forced LGBTQ+ service members to hide their identity in order to serve our country. It was a time when courage meant silence and authenticity came with punishment. 

Now, Trump and Hegseth are dragging us right back there. Hegseth has banned transgender troops from serving, ordered the discharge of those already in uniform, and even removed the name of Harvey Milk, a civil rights hero and Navy veteran, from a US naval ship. 

These are deliberate attacks meant to erase progress and dignity from those who serve. 

We need fighters in Congress. We need fighters like Chris Gallant. 

Chris is running to unseat Nick LaLota in New York’s first district. He is a proud LGBTQ military veteran and knows what it means to serve with courage and authenticity.
