Last week, a fifth grade teacher and her family, all residents of Colorado’s 4th Congressional district in Parker, were detained by ICE during a routine immigration appointment.
The teacher and her family had legal authorization to be here.
Now their lives have been uprooted and they have been flown to Texas pending deportation.
It appears to have been a retaliatory action from the administration. The school where the teacher had taught at had recently joined a lawsuit over its proposed $100,000 fee for hiring international workers on H-1B visas.
That’s not law and order. That’s your tax dollars spent ripping a teacher from her classroom instead of fixing our schools, hiring nurses, and paying firefighters. She’s not a criminal. She’s a teacher who followed the rules. Every minute she’s gone, her students pay the price.
Welcome to the America that Lauren Boebert’s sadism, cruelty, and racism, has spawned. Time is running out to change course. Our next opportunity is to fire Lauren Boebert next fall and it is truly now or never.
Boebert is in Congress because of 546 votes. In 2024 when I went head to head with Boebert, we had the best performance a Democrat has ever had in this district whereas Boebert underperformed Trump in nearly every precinct. Now we are back to finish the job.
