The 89th Legislature saw significant victories in protecting religious liberty with the passage of the Ten Commandments Law (SB 10) to remind students of the underpinnings of Western legal systems, right conduct, and the development of modern law.
It was also a banner year for women's privacy rights, and defining "female" and "male" in Texas law (HB 229). The Texas Women's Privacy Act's (SB 8) success was the culmination of a 7-year fight by the Texas Values Action policy team!
Finally, we scored some big wins for an even more pro-life Texas during the 2025 legislative sessions. These wins include ratcheting up enforcement for Texas' chemical abortion pill ban, providing additional funding for pregnant women and babies, and installing a beautiful pro-life monument at the Texas Capitol!
With the success of so many bills, the Texas Legislature was able to pass legislation on all three pillars of Texas Values; Religious Liberty, Pro-life, and Marriage/Family!
