The global egg industry is a real-life horror show. Let’s make it stop. I love Halloween as much as the next person. Costumes. Candy. Scary movie marathons. But you know what I don’t love? Our broken food system, which has become a real-life horror show for billions of birds around the world. Birds who, when confined to tiny cages, no longer look or behave like birds. In a factory farm setting, these hens become shadows of their former selves. Sick, deformed, often standing among other birds’ carcasses left to rot, unable to engage in natural hen behaviors. They’re zombie hens. And major grocery chains are profiting from that nightmare. Tell them to end the horror show now.
