McConnell is packing the courts. We can do something about it.

Last week, the Supreme Court ruled the president can fire the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

We created the CFPB after the 2008 economic crisis to hold Wall Street and big financial corporations accountable and protect consumers from predatory lending in credit cards, mortgages, and payday loans. We designed the agency to be independent, to ensure the interests of consumers always come before the interests of corporations and lobbyists.

Once again, the rightwing judges on the Supreme Court sided with corporations over consumers, giving Trump the power to fire anyone who doesn’t protect his Wall Street friends.

The Supreme Court’s decision undermines the CFPB’s independence, giving Trump the power to fire anyone who doesn’t align with his special-interest agenda.

There’s one person who played a key role in getting us here: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

If you’re able, please chip in a few dollars so we can elect Democrats who will champion our progressive values in the Senate and remove Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from power so we can put an end to his reckless agenda and stonewalling once and for all.

McConnell has helped Trump confirm 200 judicial nominees in less than four years, including two new conservative justices on the Supreme Court. That’s what got us last week’s dangerous Supreme Court decision, and that’s what is allowing McConnell and Trump to advance their political agenda all over the country.

If you were looking for another reason why we need to flip the Senate this November, this is it.

If you are able, chip in today to help Democrats take back the Majority, remove McConnell from power, and put a stop to his efforts to pack the courts.

With gratitude,

Sherrod
