Yesterday, I warned that the government shutdown could take child care away from working families.   

 
Today, child nutrition is on the line.   

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will stop nationwide on Saturday – while temporary funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is running dangerously low.  

These lifelines keep kids fed, healthy and thriving. Tell Congress to take action NOW before they disappear!

John, it’s not too late to protect SNAP and WIC for struggling families.  

These programs matter more than most Americans realize:  

• Last year, 42 million people relied on SNAP each month. 
• Over one-third of SNAP recipients are kids.
• Nearly 7 million mothers, babies and young children need WIC for nutrition, medical screenings and breastfeeding support. 

Congress has the power to keep kids healthy – but they won’t act unless we make noise. So let’s raise our voices! 

As this shutdown drags on, some parents won’t be able to feed their children without food benefits. Tell your members of Congress to FIGHT for hungry kids.
