New Pennsylvania Project

Fellow activist,

We wanted to bring to your attention that MAGA is purposely working to mislead voters in the lead-up to Election Day.

As a reminder, in less than a week, voters will have the opportunity to vote YES for the retention of three PA Supreme Court justices elected as Democrats, along with other judges on the Commonwealth and Superior Courts who are also standing for retention, and judges who are looking to fill the two vacancies on these courts as well. However, we are up against a massive anti-retention campaign funded by billionaires and Republican operatives with the goal of stripping away the independence and fairness of our state courts.

Before we share more, will you rush $25 or whatever you can to support our independent expenditure get-out-the-vote (GOTV) door-knocking program today?

This is precisely why our work is so important:

“No Kings, No Retention” signs appeared throughout Bucks County last week in the days following the No Kings Protests. According to Bucks County Beacon, these signs are paid for by Early Vote Action, a conservative Super PAC backed by Scott Presler, who moved to PA in 2024 with the goal of flipping this critical swing state for Trump.

Here’s the issue: These signs are deliberately creating confusion to mislead and distract voters – and we must move fast to ensure voters understand what voting against the retention of our justices would mean for the future of our courts and our democracy.

❌ It would mean the PA Supreme Court could have three vacancies until the Governor can appoint and confirm their replacements (which is unlikely, as this would require support from Republicans in the PA Senate) or until the next partisan judicial election in 2027.

❌ It would mean continued attacks on reproductive rights, education funding, LGBTQ+ rights, voting access, and so much more.

❌ It would mean giving more power to extremists who hope to gerrymander our Congressional districts to give more power to the Trump regime.

We cannot let voters be tricked by the GOP into not voting for their values. Will you rush $25 to support NPP’s independent expenditure get-out-the-vote (GOTV) door-knocking and Election Day precinct program so we can protect democracy and retain our judges and justices?

Onward,

Team NPP

Donations to the New Pennsylvania Project supports our staff’s community engagement efforts including; organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
