Attention Texas High School Students!
True Texas Project/True Texas Education is excited to announce our newest scholarship!
- Who: all high school students in Texas; immediate family members of TTP paid employees are not eligible, but family members of volunteers and Board members are encouraged to apply
- What: scholarship essay contest
- When: applications are due Nov 30 at 11:59pm
- Where: anywhere in Texas, any high school (public, charter, private, home);
- Why: to award 3 prizes as outlined below to students who show insight into current issues affecting Texans 
                       - 1st Prize: American Gold Eagle 1/10 oz coin roughly worth $475 (depending on the day’s price of gold) + $500 + tickets for winner and 3 guests (four tickets total) to attend our Christmas party on Dec 11 in Grapevine
- 2nd Prize: US Morgan Silver Dollar + US Peace Silver Dollar roughly worth $50 each (depending on day’s price of silver) + $350 + tickets for winner and 3 guests (four tickets total) to attend our Christmas party on Dec 11 in Grapevine
- 3rd Prize: US Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar roughly worth $40 + $250 + tickets for winner and 3 guests (four tickets total) to attend our Christmas party on Dec 11 in Grapevine
- Honorable Mentions: Tickets for themselves and 3 guests (four tickets total per honorable mention winner) to attend our Christmas party on Dec 11 in Grapevine.
 
- How: complete the online form along with an essay addressing your choice of the topics provided below. Essays can be typed in any format and be any length, but it’s probably a good idea to check spelling and punctuation! Also note these should be essays, not a bulleted list of responses.

                        - What are your thoughts when those delivering threats or calling for violence claim a 1st amendment right to violent language?
- How does social media lend itself to increased volatility?
- What role/responsibility do social media influencers, politicians, and organization leaders play in promoting violence on the Left?
- How should schools, universities, law enforcement personnel, and politicians respond to this increase in violent language?
- What correlation can be made between LGBTQ+ and political violence?
- What examples have you seen in your own school, activities, social media, with friends or family, of political bias, threatening behavior, preferential treatment, etc? How has this topic affected your life?
- Describe any time you have taken a stand against the tide.
- What do older generations need to learn about younger generations to better understand this issue? How does the perspective of older generations differ from that of the younger on this topic, and why does that difference exist?
- What laws regarding the 2nd amendment, self-defense, etc, should be increased and/or removed given the current violence in America?
- Compare/Contrast government schools with homeschool/private/Christian schools as it relates to this topic.
- In your experience (as applicable) how are these topics addressed in your local youth groups and churches?
- Does the possibility of civil political dialogue exist between conservatives and progressives? Elaborate on the reasoning.
- Describe the ways that the Federal government has allowed leftist political violence to go unchecked while demagoguing an imaginary threat of violence from the right.

                       - Discuss the devaluation of the US Dollar, inflation, current interest rates, our national debt.
- Why has gold and silver almost doubled in price over the last few years; what has caused that to happen?
- How will these things affect you?
 
Option Three: The Epstein Files (opinion essay)

                       - Why has information not been released?
- What are the repercussions of releasing it?
- Theorize on the Epstein “system”: was it set up to manipulate and/or blackmail political leaders, corporate executives, and members of the judicial branches? If so, what individuals/countries do you think might have been responsible?
 
Judging: The leadership team of True Texas Project will do the final judging based on personal opinion as well as feedback received from activists within our organization. The winners will be announced no later than Dec 6, 2025, on our True Texas Project Facebook, Instagram, X, and website pages. Winners will be recognized at our Christmas party if they are able to attend, but prizes will be awarded at the January True Texas Project meetings nearest to the winners. Winners must accept the prize in person at a TTP meeting. All decisions of the Boards of True Texas Project/True Texas Education are final and indisputable.
