Dear Reader,
Heavy metal or classical? Audiobooks, podcasts, or just silence?
Whatever soundtrack gets you through the morning commute or the long journey home is a personal choice.
But lately, an inconsiderate minority seem to think their music is everyone’s music. And they’ve playing it out loud on buses and trains with no regard for those around them.
Often, the content is inappropriate, the volume intrusive, and the experience unpleasant for fellow passengers.
That’s why we’ve called for the existing bylaws against this behaviour on trains to be enforced properly. And for those bylaws to be applied on our buses as well.
Earlier this month when we forced a vote on this, Labour voted against us.
Urge them to reconsider by signing our petition here ( [link removed] ).
Many have spoken up and asked someone to turn the volume down, to show a little respect.
Too often, they’re met with intimidation. Sometimes even threats or violence.
Creating a more respectful public space shouldn’t fall only on the shoulders of passengers. Those in authority need to step up and protect the right to travel in peace.
That means real enforcement. Fines. And the confidence that when you speak up, someone has your back.
Help us push Labour to act by signing our petition here ( [link removed] ).
Kind regards,
The Conservative Party
