Dear John,
It feels like an understatement to say that we’ve been up against some pretty big challenges lately. The Trump administration’s reckless actions caused a government shutdown, leading to severe repercussions nationwide. As we approach our end-of-month fundraising deadline, will you pitch in and help us fight back against whatever Republicans throw at us? [[link removed]]
Trump’s disregard for the well-being of everyday Americans has impacted our safety, security, travel, and access to essential medical services and food assistance.
Federal employees facing financial uncertainty and citizens relying on essential government services are just two examples of the immeasurable harm that the shutdown causes Americans. Instead of re-opening the government, Trump and his goons are spreading lies about Portland as a distraction. Our city is not “war ravaged” and hasn’t been “on fire for years."
These lies are being used as an attempt to justify deploying the National Guard to Portland, despite clear communications from Governor Kotek that no such things are happening in our city, and that deploying troops against Oregonians is not needed or wanted. [[link removed]] We must support Governor Kotek - help us build the ground game needed to ensure success in 2026! [[link removed]]
The reality is that Portland is not a war zone. This divisive rhetoric is dangerous and these claims are false. Our communities deserve better than this . What our communities truly need are more teachers in classrooms, more counselors addressing addiction and mental health, affordable housing, reliable infrastructure, and accessible healthcare.
Federal resources should be directed toward building strong and safe communities, not toward escalating fear and division. This administration should be ashamed of using the federal government to spread misinformation. Together as Oregonians we will not be misled by this reckless attempt to stir division and escalate tensions in our state. We need to show Republicans that Oregonians stand UNIFIED against their cruelty. [[link removed]]

We must stand against their pathetic attempt at political gain and band together with our shared values within our community. The 2026 elections are so important, and we must re-elect Senator Jeff Merkley, Governor Tina Kotek, and do our part to win back the house by re-electing our great Democratic congressional delegation – Suzanne Bonamici, Val Hoyle, Andrea Salinas, Janelle Bynum, and Maxine Dexter. We must also defend and grow our critical legislative majorities! Help us make sure Democrats win! [[link removed]]

Governor Kotek is up for reelection next year, and we're going to recruit and deploy thousands of volunteers to make sure she wins.
