There's been a lot of good news in the climate movement this week:

The Dakota Access Pipeline will soon be shut down. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline was canceled. And the Sanders-Biden climate task force came together and hammered out a strong set of bold climate recommendations for Joe Biden to take up as the presumptive Democratic nominee. Better yet, the recommendations that came out of this task force draw upon the Inslee Climate Mission and the Evergreen Action Plan. But our work isn't done yet.

Data for Progress polling has shown that Biden can earn stronger support from Independents and younger voters by making a deeper commitment to climate action in his campaign. And if Biden does win, our advocacy today will give him a more ambitious playbook for a clean energy-led economic recovery, starting on day one of his term.

Biden's plan is already more ambitious than any past presidential nominee's, but, as the recommendations from the task force show, it can -- and should -- go further.

Here's what we want to see from Biden in the coming weeks before August's convention:

Sector-specific standards to achieve 100% clean electricity by 2035 and 100% clean new buildings and cars over the coming decade
A commitment to invest trillions in clean energy and infrastructure -- creating millions of new union jobs, building a just and thriving economy
A commitment to weave justice throughout his climate policy and prioritize federal investments in the communities most affected by industrial pollution and climate change
