| In a new letter to the USDOJ, and following WILL's investigation, we identified additional serious concerns regarding the Wisconsin Election Commission's maintenance of Wisconsin’s statewide voter registration list.
Our findings show that over 41,000 voter registration records cannot be reconciled with the data maintained by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT).
Data obtained by WILL not only shows the number of current voter registration records that do not match DOT information, but it shows this problem has only worsened since 2021. Right now, the number of records where the voter's name does not match DOT information has surged, rising from 15,260 in 2021 to 24,733 today. Registrations with no record of a drivers license number have more than doubled, increasing from 4,885 in 2021 to 11,174.
While these mismatches do not necessarily indicate widespread voter fraud, the issues are far too extensive for WEC to continue to ignore.
WILL Deputy Counsel, Lucas Vebber, stated, “WEC’s response to questions from the DOJ, Wisconsin Legislature, and WILL have been inadequate. Now, we have discovered that over 11,000 voter registrations have no matching driver’s license number in DOT records, a number that has doubled since 2020. That should sound alarm bells, but WEC continues to ignore the issue. WILL remains committed to exploring this critical election security issue.” |
