First: Through Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, we saw the largest ever cut to food security.

Then: The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced it will stop publishing its annual Household Food Security reports, claiming that these surveys, which track hunger across the nation, present nothing more than “subjective, liberal fodder.”

Once again, the Trump regime is working to hide a problem rather than solve it.

Republicans are working to make life more difficult for Americans. Help support Democrats as we seek to cut costs and fight back against the MAGA agenda by pitching in $5 today.

Around 47 million Americans live in food-insecure households, and by the USDA stating that “These redundant, costly, politicized, and extraneous studies do nothing more than fear-monger,” the Trump administration is sweeping this dire issue under the rug and using political rhetoric to justify not addressing hunger in the United States.

To make matters worse, the Republican government shutdown is impacting the already slashed SNAP funding. According to The Columbus Dispatch, nearly 1.4 million Ohioans could miss their monthly payments to help buy groceries starting November 1.

This can be avoided if Republicans would stop waiting for permission from Trump to get to work for the American people and reopen the government. We cannot afford to wait for the GOP to grow a backbone – we need to get to work NOW.

It’s clear: we need to regain control of the House in 2026 so we can put an end to this chaos once and for all. Please help us flip the House blue by pitching in $5 right now.

Onward,

Team Shontel Brown
