As you know, our movement has never just been about a single political campaign.
Our run for president was driven by an unprecedented grassroots movement that had a profound impact on our nation — and now our struggle continues.
That is why we're proud to support so many strong progressive candidates all across the country who are continuing the struggles at the center of our movement. These are candidates up and down the ballot who have proven they have the guts to take on the one percent, stand up for working people, and fight for economic, racial, social, and environmental justice.
Many of these candidates have tough primary elections coming up, some of them very soon. The establishment sees the tides shifting all across the country, and they don't like it.
They see a multi-racial, multi-generational, grassroots movement of working people giving these campaigns energy, momentum, and support. They want to put a stop to that, and we need to fight back.
That is why we hope you'll join our next Day of Action this Saturday, July 11. Will you sign up to make calls for Cori Bush ahead of the primary on August 4?
Bernie Vols for Cori
Saturday, July 11
Event starts at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT
Cori Bush is a nurse and community activist running for Congress in Missouri's 1st district. She emerged as a leader while working on the frontlines of the Ferguson movement as a protester, clergy member, medic, and victim of police assault, and now is continuing the bold fight for justice. She knows what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck and be burdened with student and medical debt, and is someone we can count on to stand with working people and provide true representation for our movement in Congress.
Now more than ever, at a time when other kinds of voter outreach and typical campaign activities are limited or impossible, phone banking and contacting voters by phone has become critically important.
Between Wall Street, the insurance industry, the drug companies, the fossil fuel giants, and the prison and military-industrial complexes, we are up against some well-funded special interests and we can't afford to let up. And while our country faces a series of unprecedented crises, it has never been more important to elect candidates who will fight for the transformational change we need in this moment.
If we come together and work to elect strong progressives up and down the ballot, all across the country, we can expand our movement and strengthen the political revolution.
We can have elected officials who care about the needs of working people, not just wealthy campaign donors and lobbyists.
We can guarantee health care as a human right, pass a Green New Deal, and cancel student debt.
We can finally create a government that works for all of us — not just those at the top — and we can achieve the kinds of progressive change this country sorely needs.
We can, and we will. That's why your participation in our Day of Action is so important.
Your involvement in this Day of Action will mean a lot to our movement, and it means a lot to Bernie. Thank you for signing up to elect progressive candidates who are ready to transform our country.
In solidarity,
Team Bernie
