Winter Preparedness

Kitsap County Public Works: Preparing for Winter Weather

As the winter season approaches, Kitsap County Public Works is gearing up to keep roads safe and accessible during inclement weather. Our Road Shop crews recently participated in a “Snow Roadeo,*”* where they trained and practiced using snowplows and other snow and ice removal equipment. This hands-on training helps ensure crews are ready to respond quickly and effectively when winter storms arrive.

To stay informed about the latest road conditions and traffic impacts, we encourage you to subscribe to the County Road Report*.* Subscribers receive real-time notifications, road closure information, and traffic advisories to help plan travel safely during winter weather. Signing up is quick and easy—visit *kcowa.us/roadreport [ [link removed] ]* to subscribe via text or email.

You can also stay updated on facility closures, delayed openings, and emergency updates by visiting our Inclement Weather & Emergency Information page at *kcowa.us/IW [ [link removed] ]*. There, you’ll find links to the County’s Snow and Ice Response Plan and Priority Plowing Map, which outline how our crews respond when conditions turn icy or snowy.

Thank you for helping keep Kitsap County safe this winter—stay prepared, stay informed, and travel carefully!
