Here’s what’s happening, John:
This month, the Supreme Court heard Louisiana v. Callais -- a case that could dismantle one of the most important protections in our democracy: the Voting Rights Act.
If conservatives on the Court get their way, states could be barred from considering race when drawing district lines. That would open the door for widespread racial gerrymandering -- silencing Black and brown voters and wiping out as many as 19 Democratic seats in Congress, including nearly a third of the Congressional Black Caucus.
We don’t yet know when the ruling will come but we can’t wait to act. The best defense of our voting rights is electing Democrats who will protect them at every level of government.
There is too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. We must do everything we can to help Democrats win in competitive races across the country in just 6 days, and in the midterms next year. Will you stand with me in this fight and make a contribution to support our efforts?

Since I was 12 and led my local NAACP youth chapter, I have fought for our civil rights -- from demonstrations at segregated drugstores to organizing for voting rights. I went to jail for those efforts.
Trump and the GOP want to take us backward to a time when discrimination was the law of the land and justice was out of reach for too many. We’re not going to let that happen.
Thank you for fighting with me,
Jim
