Halloween might be just around the corner—but the scariest thing I can think of isn't any costume. It's what's happening right now in Washington, D.C. under the GOP's "leadership."

While families across Washington State are trying to make ends meet, the Trump administration and its allies in Congress are once again putting politics and power before people.

We have to bring sanity and compassion back to Washington, and that starts with protecting the most critical seats in the nation, including WA-08. Can I count on you to chip in $5, or anything you can, to help me fight back before our end-of-month fundraising deadline? >> [link removed]

Trump is using taxpayer dollars to bail out his friends here and abroad, while refusing to lift a finger to end the government shutdown that's hurting workers and people who depend on government programs right here at home. And in the House, things are just as frightening.

Republicans can't seem to govern to save their lives. They've shut down the government, are willingly stalling critical services, threatening our healthcare, and refusing to work across party lines to make real progress for the people they were elected to fight for. They’re bowing down to our president and throwing their constituents under the bus. In short: It's utter chaos, and downright cruel.

john, I came to Congress to solve problems, not create new ones. As a pediatrician, I'm used to keeping calm when things get scary. But what's happening now in Congress is downright dangerous. We need to ensure we have the resources to flip the House in 2026, but it's going to take all of us stepping up.
