Hi Friend :
I’m running to represent DC in Congress because I will be ready to fight for the values of our city and defend our right to self-governance on Day One. I won’t bend to the will of Trump and those in Congress who treat those of us who call this city home as second-class citizens. And I won’t sacrifice the lives of our most vulnerable residents to score political favor with the Trump Administration.
My public career in DC has been long on hard work and short on political gamesmanship. I have worked tirelessly to close gaps in access and opportunity, push for government transparency, and ensure that your voices drive local decision-making.
Whether it was my five years in Congress working alongside Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton; my time working with Attorney General Karl Racine; or my tenure as an At-Large Council Member where I have stood up for every resident by fighting for affordable housing, safe and livable homes, effective crime reduction and public safety, holding DC government agencies accountable to the taxpayers, equity in business and education opportunities—and putting DC residents across all eight wards first.
I may be new to running for Congress—but I have a lifetime invested in our city and the communities that make it the city that we love.
Asking you to contribute to my campaign right now during a federal government shutdown isn’t easy—but it is the only way we can build the infrastructure we need to mobilize every DC primary voter. Please consider chipping in today to fuel our fight and just as important, please join the fight.
