John, it’s Hannah Pingree.
I’m the former Speaker of the Maine House, a Mainer born and raised, and now, I’m the Democrat running to be the next Governor of Maine.
On Friday at midnight, I’m facing my October fundraising deadline, and my team is hoping to raise at least $2,400 before then. So, here are FIVE reasons why you should donate $5 to my campaign.

1️⃣ The Trump administration is waging an all out assault on everyday Americans. From increasing health care premiums, halting SNAP benefits, and implementing tariffs that increase inflation, Democratic governors are on the frontlines fighting back.
2️⃣ But there’s a catch: Maine hasn’t had two back-to-back Democratic governors in decades. We can make history but it won’t be easy.
3️⃣ Because Maine is a small state with a history of independent candidates, Sabato’s Crystal Ball downgraded this race from “Likely Dem” to “Lean Dem,” meaning we can’t take this race for granted for a second.
4️⃣ More recently, one of my Republican competitors started spending thousands on TV ads more than a year out from Election Day
5️⃣ I have what it takes to fight for you as governor. I’ve led at every level, from school board to Speaker of the House and I’ve won lots of big fights over the years. I’ve never backed down from a battle and I won’t back down now.
