** Last Chance: VOTE AND GET OUT THE VOTE
------------------------------------------------------------
This is our last push to pass Prop 50! If you haven’t yet turned in your ballot, drop it in a ballot drop box NOW—with only one week until the deadline, we recommend using a ballot drop box instead of USPS to make sure your ballot is received on time and counted. Here ([link removed]) are locations of all the drop boxes.
There’s only one thing to vote on, so it’s super quick. Vote YES, put it in the return envelope, sign and date the return envelope, and put it in a ballot box, and you’re done.
Indivisible SF is doing a final Get Out the Vote sprint of door-to-door canvassing: we’ll be out in the Sunset at 11 AM starting Saturday, November 1st, and continuing each day through the final day, Tuesday, November 4th. Our canvassing is fun and you will be go with a partner. We will win only if we get out the vote. The whole country is watching—sign up here ([link removed]) to join us!
** We didn’t panic. We mobilized. We stopped ICE in San Francisco.
------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, right on the heels of No Kings 2 in San Francisco, Trump declared a “surge” of ICE and a potential National Guard deployment in San Francisco. Within the week, in coalition with Bay Resistance ([link removed]) , we were able to warn our neighbors and mobilize thousands of people to defend our city.
We signed over 700 people up to our ISF Rapid Response Signal hotline ([link removed]) , and mobilized them to Thursday’s press conference, Thursday’s rally, and a rapid response in Stockton to picket an ICE office that was trapping immigrants.
See Pro Bono Photo’s gallery of the emergency mobilization here. ([link removed])
We held vigils at every SF Public Library branch in San Francisco, handing out whistles, educating people on how to spot ICE, and routing them to their local Adopt-A-Corner ([link removed]) initiatives.
Our volunteers served as safety monitors at several events, protecting our vulnerable neighbors and successfully de-escalating at least one confrontation with a MAGA streamer-agitator.
This has been a really difficult and scary few weeks for our all-volunteer team, and everyone in San Francisco, but we showed our power. It’s likely that this isn’t over, but we know that we can do it and that we hold power in the community.
If and when Trump threatens our communities again, we will be ready. In the meantime, there’s still work to do. Read on for more things you can do to protect our community TODAY.
** Thank you, Mayor Lurie, for fending off Trump’s invasion
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not every week that a mayor stands up for our Constitutional rights and helps prevent a military invasion, but last week Mayor Lurie did just that ([link removed]) . Let’s all take a couple of minutes to show our appreciation—call his office ([link removed]) to say thank you.
** Help Fund Immigrant Services
------------------------------------------------------------
As harrowing as last week was for all of us, it was particularly terrifying for our city’s immigrant community. San Francisco needs to do everything it can to protect its immigrant community. Two of the most important services for immigrants facing ICE raids are San Francisco’s Rapid Response Hotline and legal organizations that defend immigrants.
If an immigrant is being abducted, the first line of defense is the SF Rapid Response Line. When a call is made, a lawyer is dispatched to help them avoid detention and deportation. But both of these services only work if there is sufficient funding to ensure that the lines remain open and there are lawyers on hand to answer each call.
Last year, the SF Rapid Response Hotline received 1,200 calls over the entire year. In the three months of July, August, and September 2025, they received 2,000 calls. Last week, they received over 650 calls. These services were already in need of more funding, especially after they received cuts in this year’s budget process, but additional funding will become essential if we undergo an ICE surge.
Multiple Supervisors are sponsoring an ordinance that would allocate an additional $3.5 million from the city’s reserve fund to the rapid response hotline and legal services for immigrants. Any funds not used by the end of the fiscal year will be returned to the reserve fund, so in the (unlikely) event that the crisis our immigrant community faces dissipates, it will have no impact on the financial conditions of our city. Given that the risk our immigrant community faces will likely escalate, we need this ordinance to not only pass with broad support, but to become an annual allocation until Trump is out of office.
Seven supervisors have already stepped up to support our immigrant community. Call them to say thanks! If your supervisor hasn’t yet voiced their support, ask them to stand with immigrants.

** Tell the Sheriff: EVERYONE deserves due process
------------------------------------------------------------
From preparing for ICE raids to unpacking the surprise announcement from Mayor Lurie, last week was a rollercoaster. But one thing is clear: not one cent of our local tax dollars should ever be used to aid and abet the abduction of our neighbors.
We have received alarming reports that, as ICE was preparing for mass raids earlier this week, it was pressuring our local law enforcement officials to gut the Sanctuary protections that have kept thousands of families together.
We must remain vigilant. That’s why today, we’re asking you to join us in calling on San Francisco Sheriff Paul Miyamoto to resist ICE’s threats and keep our communities safe under current sanctuary laws. He must refuse to turn any of our neighbors over to ICE.
Tell Sheriff Miyamoto’s office ([link removed]) that EVERYONE deserves due process.
** Support our friends at Indivisible Tri-Valley to Bring Miguel Home
------------------------------------------------------------
Miguel Lopez, a long time resident and hard working member of the Tri-Valley community, was illegally abducted by ICE last May during a routine check-in, held at a detention center near Bakersfield, and then deported to Mexico in early June, where he remains today.
There is a hearing for Miguel coming up on Thursday, October 30 in San Francisco and we want to get a big group together to show support for Miguel, his wife Rosa, and their children. Bring friends, family, and signs to help us bring Miguel home.

** Hold GEO Group's feet to the fire and liberate Compton's Cafeteria
------------------------------------------------------------
111 Taylor is the former location of Gene Compton’s Cafeteria, a dining establishment that in the 1960s was frequented by transgender San Franciscans, frequently raided by cops, and in August 1966 was the site of the Compton’s Cafeteria riot.
Since then, it’s been acquired by private-prison operator GEO Group and turned into a halfway house. GEO Group is notorious for their apathetic to abusive mismanagement of their facilities, as exemplified by the recent death of Martin Balauan after being held in GEO Group’s custody ([link removed]) . A group called Compton’s Coalition ([link removed]) is seeking to challenge GEO Group’s operation of the facility and have the location—now at the heart of the Transgender Cultural District—made into a historic landmark.
We can support these efforts by attending the upcoming hearing ([link removed]) of the Government Audit and Oversight Committee at City Hall to assist Compton’s Coalition and back up Supervisor Jackie Fielder in probing into GEO Group’s mistreatment of people held at 111 Taylor.

** Cancel Spotify
------------------------------------------------------------
Building on the success of the Tesla Takedown (now the Trump Regime Takedown in San Francisco) and the Disney+ cancellation campaigns, Indivisible National’s latest newsletter ([link removed]) highlights Spotify as a potential next economic resistance target.
Spotify’s latest questionable behavior is running ads for ICE recruitment. It’s also got a history of spending millions of dollars promoting right-wing commentators like Joe Rogan. Spotify, like Disney+, is highly dependent on subscriptions for revenue.
Indivisible asked Spotify for a meeting, and hasn’t heard back, so they’re now recommending we cancel our subscriptions. See our instructions on how to do that ([link removed]) and a link to an instructional video ([link removed]) .
** CalFresh cards won’t refill on schedule this November—here’s what you can do
------------------------------------------------------------
Millions of Americans, including millions of Californians, rely on a program called SNAP to buy groceries to feed themselves and their families. You might have heard of it, or its predecessor, food stamps.
You may have also heard that SNAP recipients could start going hungry next month due to the Trump shutdown. This is ultimately what Trump and the Republicans want: they’d prefer for people, including families with children, to starve rather than spend even a single dollar to help them eat.
Learn more about what SNAP is, why Trump and Republicans want to starve this program and the people on it, what Democrats can do, and how you can help in the meantime on our blog ([link removed]) .
** Tell Airbnb they need to pay their taxes—and you won’t book there until they do!
------------------------------------------------------------
Indivisible SF supports the Airbnb boycott. Until they stop their greed, we’re booking elsewhere. Sign on here ([link removed]) .
San Franciscans want a city where all of us can thrive, and tax revenue from businesses located here are crucial to funding a budget that benefits all of us.
Yet the billionaires at Airbnb are aligned with Trump and MAGA, NOT with San Francisco values. Airbnb’s co-founder, Joe Gebbia, is working with DOGE to cut vital services to benefit the ultra-wealthy. Locally, Airbnb is suing the city, refusing to pay the $120 million in taxes they owe, leading to large cuts to services right here in San Francisco. AirBnB’s business model is fueling the housing crisis, using loopholes to take hundreds of units off the market, converting them to “boutique hotels” to avoid short term rental regulations.
Indivisible SF has joined with a coalition of unions and community organizations calling for an economic boycott of Airbnb. Now, individuals can join the boycott. We’ll use our economic power to pressure Airbnb to stop their lawsuit and pay their taxes. Join us to create a flourishing future for all San Francisco residents.
