The devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa is almost unimaginable. Families who just days ago were going about their lives are now sifting through the wreckage — homes flattened, streets flooded and communities struggling to find safety and stability.

In the days to come, we will truly learn how devastating this storm was. But right now I need you to pray.

The Unto team is already working hand in hand with Cru^® staff on the ground in Jamaica and across the Caribbean, doing everything possible to reach those in desperate need.

Due to communication lines being down, it may take days to know how to support the local staff best, but supplies are being positioned, assessments are underway and relief efforts are beginning — even as the full scale of the destruction continues to unfold.

“While we are safe, most of Jamaica is not,” shares one Cru staff member. “There are lots of strong winds … The western end is badly hit. Pray for them. Thank you all!”

Staff have been sharing with me the amount of damage they have woken up to. Several hospitals are damaged, powerlines are down and roads are washed out.
