 Hi Friend,
I’m just in the US for a geothermal conference
and had a moment to go through some emails. I wanted to make sure you
saw this from Casey last week.
Things move quickly in Parliament and we are
often onto the next thing before we have had a chance to celebrate the
important milestones.
Passing the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai
Moana) Amendment Bill was a big deal. Not enough Kiwis realise that
before this Bill, virtually the entire coastline of our great nation
was either under claim or waiting in the queue. That madness has been
stopped in its tracks.
This didn’t happen by accident. It happened
because Winston Peters made damn sure it was in the coalition
agreement. He could see what was coming all the way back in 2011 when
Chris Finlayson and co unleashed the original MACA law. Winston warned
it would turn into a lolly scramble in the courts.
Watching this Bill pass is testament that even
with a smaller crew, we continue to punch far above our weight;
standing up for ordinary New Zealanders who just want fairness and one
law for all.
This was meant to be a short note! So I will
finish by encouraging you to read Casey's email below and asking you
to consider
throwing your support behind New Zealand First with a donation to our
Common Sense Fund.
Right. Back on my mission to secure affordable
energy options to drive down the cost of electricity.

We

more than a slogan for other parties, for us it’s a line in the
sand.
