Donald Trump has officially crossed a line that no president has ever crossed before. In a clear act of political revenge, he directed his Department of Justice to indict New York Attorney General Tish James.

Trump's actions are egregious and alarming, and the charges against AG James are baseless. Like his attacks on other people he perceives as enemies, this indictment is just the latest move in his ongoing political witch hunts.

The Democratic Attorneys General Association launched a legal defense fund to help defend Democratic Attorneys General and their staff who are targeted for political retribution by Donald Trump. This fund will help cover the costs of the unprecedented retaliatory legal action taken by the Trump administration against AGs who are holding lawbreakers accountable.
