Thanks to President Trump's leadership, Texas is armed with powerful new tools like the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) data system to verify voter citizenship, ensuring only citizens of Texas vote in Texas elections. Texas has already identified nearly 3,000 potential noncitizens that are registered to vote. While this is a big step in the right direction toward securing our elections, there is another threat to election integrity that needs to be solved ASAP.
To protect our elections further, we NEED to close our Republican primaries. Only Republicans should select our Republican nominees…it's common sense. By closing our primaries, we ensure that our state doesn’t let democrats influence our elections by diluting the voice of true conservatives.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joined the Republican Party of Texas in filing a joint motion for entry of a consent judgment in our lawsuit to close Republican primary elections in Texas. In this joint motion, General Paxton agrees with the Republican Party of Texas that the Texas Election Code is unconstitutional as it requires Texas Republicans to allow democrats to participate in Republican primary elections. Within minutes, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson’s expensive out of state lawyers, hired with taxpayer dollars, filed a notice with the court that Secretary Nelson opposes the joint motion. She is doing everything that she can to oppose the will of Texas Republicans.
