Team, it sure seems like Utah Senator Mike Lee is trying to make the case that deadly measles outbreaks don’t bother him as long as immigrants are the ones affected.

It’s a gross, dehumanizing deflection meant to take the focus away from the real problem: Trump and RFK Jr.’s failed leadership when it comes to public health in America.

Mike Lee just can’t admit that this measles outbreak was enabled by Republicans and encouraged by their leaders, so he has to take a desperate swipe at immigrants instead.

The truth is that Trump and RFK Jr.’s dangerous policies and misinformed rhetoric are helping fuel the anti-vaccine movement at a time when factual and informed medical advice is needed more than ever.

It’s outrageous that we have a leader at the Department of Health and Human Services who publicly doubts the efficacy of proven vaccines. And worse, one who cuts funding for vaccine research and forces out top scientists at HHS and the CDC so he can replace them with cranks and conspiracy theorists.

Ed Markey has always been a leader on supporting scientific research and medical advancements in the Senate. He stood up to RFK Jr. when he asked the Senate for their votes. And he’s fighting every day to undo the damage being done by this reckless administration.
