October is supposed to be about the fun kind of scares, like ghosts, costumes, and haunted houses. But this year, the real fright is coming straight from Washington.

Right now, we're in the middle of a government shutdown because Trump-loyal Republicans refuse to do the one job they were hired to do: Serve the American people…not Donald Trump.

Instead of passing a bipartisan budget that keeps our government open and healthcare funded across the nation, they've chosen to manufacture chaos. And the consequences are hitting real people right here in Colorado and across the country.

Federal employees are being furloughed or forced to work without pay, families who rely on SNAP and WIC are wondering how long they'll be able to put food on the table, small businesses that depend on federal contracts are facing uncertainty, national parks, research labs, and community programs are at risk of grinding to a halt.

And it's all because a handful of extremists in Congress think their political games are more important than the livelihoods of millions of Americans.

Diana has been calling this out from the start. She's been demanding accountability and reminding her colleagues that public service means putting people before politics. She's fighting to reopen the government, protect workers and families, and make sure Coloradans aren't the ones left paying the price for Washington dysfunction. But Johh, she can't do it alone.
