| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEPublic Comment Open for Draft 2026 - 2031 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program  Skagit County Public Works is in the process of compiling proposed projects for the 2026 – 2031 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP is considered a mid-range planning tool for regionally significant transportation projects that may have state and federal funding. These projects include new construction or improvements to the transportation system under the jurisdiction of the County such as road projects, bridge projects, ferry projects, and trail or non-motorized projects. Skagit County will host a public hearing on the STIP on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interested citizens may join and provide testimony in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room at 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, or via Zoom at the link on the Commissioners website. The County will be accepting written public comments until 4:30 p.m. on November 3, 2025.   All electronic comments must be submitted using the online form found here:  www.skagitcounty.net/TIPcomments. To ensure comments are received and processed properly, comments will not be accepted via email.
