John,
We just updated our Path to Victory Memo, and we wanted to share it with you. It lays out where we’re gaining ground and what we’ll need to win this race:

Abdul for U.S. Senate — Path to Victory Memo State of the Race Multiple election analysts rate Michigan as a toss-up, making it one of the most competitive Senate races in the country. Whoever wins here could determine majority control of the entire Senate. Abdul has built one of the strongest progressive campaigns in the nation, earning endorsements from Senator Bernie Sanders, Congressman Ro Khanna, the Michigan Democratic Party Progressive Caucus, and dozens of local leaders. This early momentum makes it clear — our campaign has the energy and broad support needed to win in both the primary and general elections. Unpredictability One of the biggest questions right now is whether or not the Michigan state legislature will shift our primary date from August to May. If we lose three critical months to campaign, we’ll have to accelerate our operations on every front. That means reaching more voters in a shorter time frame and squeezing more events into our calendar — both of which require more financial resources. Fundraising Update In Q3, our campaign raised $1.77 million — more in individual contributions than any other campaign in this race. (Corporate PACs don’t count.) Meanwhile, the primary opponent we’re neck-and-neck with in the polls is bankrolled by AIPAC and corporate PACs. Keeping up this fundraising pace is crucial, especially as AIPAC starts to explicitly target our campaign. |
As you can see, a major factor in winning this competitive primary is whether or not we can generate enough grassroots momentum to reach Michiganders across the state.
Here are a few ways to make a positive impact:
Thanks so much,
Team Abdul
