We're helping LGBTQ+ youth build confidence with money. No images? Click here Hi John, For LGBTQ+ young people, growing up often means navigating identity, community, and big decisions without a roadmap. Studies show LGBTQ+ youth face higher rates of financial stress and often make big financial decisions earlier, with fewer safety nets than their peers. Financial literacy isn’t just about dollars and cents; it’s about survival, independence, and a sense of control. That’s why we launched Financial Pride, a collaboration with Cash App to build practical confidence around budgeting, credit, saving, and the mindset that goals are attainable. We kicked off with Queer Cash 101, a webinar for our Youth Voices ambassadors, alumni, and grantees led by Jenni and Lisa Dazols of Modern Family Finance. It was hands-on and practical, answering the money questions LGBTQ+ youth told us they had in a supportive, identity-affirming space. Next up, we launched First Financial Wins, a short-form video series celebrating the moments that build momentum, big and small: scholarships, first big paychecks, saving up for a gender-affirming haircut. Small wins add up. Confidence compounds. Financial Pride is another way we uplift, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ youth, turning lived experience into leadership and giving them tools to thrive. Your support help us grow programs like Financial Pride. Consider making a donation to help fuel our work, or watch and share our First Financial Wins videos so they reach more classrooms and communities.
