John—
It’s been a busy month here at Run for Something. As always, the team and I are SO grateful for your support, encouragement, and commitment.
First off, a big update: We launched our 5-year plan to help Democrats stop losing. It’s called Battle Up. We are literally begging Democrats to plan ahead for what happens after redistricting in 2030. I went on MSNBC to talk about it.
I also want to share some other highlights from the month that you may have missed:
-
You’ll frequently hear us say that state and local leaders are the ones holding the line against the Trump administration. That’s 100% evident in Portland. City leaders there are using zoning laws to stop ICE, including RFS alumni like Council President Elana Pirtle-Guiney and Councilmembers Angelita Morillo and Candace Avalos.
-
We teamed up with Important Not Important for a series that brings candidates together from across state lines to exchange policy ideas and build connections. I particularly love this episode on housing affordability with Somerville City Councilmember (and candidate for mayor) Willie Burnley Jr. and Atlanta City Council candidate Kelsea Bond. Have a listen, will ya?
BTW, do you want more regular updates about Run for Something candidates and alumni doing cool sh*t for their constituents?
