Steve Bannon just confirmed what many feared: Trump’s allies are openly discussing how to keep him in power beyond the limits of the Constitution.
In a recent interview, Bannon – Trump’s former chief strategist – claimed there’s “a plan” for Trump to run for a third term. He even described Trump as “an instrument of divine will” and told Americans to “get accommodated with that.”[1]
Trump’s response? “I would love to do it.”[2]
It’s not a joke, and it’s not a bluff. It’s a warning.
For years, Bannon has used provocation to test how far the MAGA movement can go without consequence. Now he’s saying the quiet part plainly: they believe Trump should rule without limits, and they’re laying the groundwork to make that possible.
