Hey team,

Folks here in Wisconsin have already been notified that their ACA premiums will increase by double, triple, and even quadruple. Now, because of the shutdown, food assistance is set to run out of funding at the end of the month, leaving hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites hungry as we head into November.

Derrick Van Orden has stated repeatedly that as a person who relied on food stamps as a child, he would never support cuts to SNAP. However he voted for Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” that included significant cuts to SNAP, and now the shutdown will affect those people even more.

With health insurance rates increasing and food assistance decreasing, Republicans who voted for Trump's Big Beautiful Bill and now who are refusing to open the government are squeezing Americans and putting them in impossible situations.

We deserve leaders who will strengthen communities, not weaken communities by making Americans go hungry and sick.

I am running for Congress to stand up for our neighbors; to make sure all have access to healthcare and food.
