Republicans in Congress have created a health care crisis - one entirely of their own making.
Their Big, Ugly Law gutted Medicaid, slashed lifesaving tax credits, and made affordable health care harder to reach for millions of Americans. And now, with Republicans holding the government hostage, health care costs are set to skyrocket for millions.
Here’s what that means right here at home: if Republicans refuse to extend critical health care tax credits, premiums will surge within months.
In the South Sound, a 65-year-old could see their monthly costs rise by more than 300% - that’s
$7,000 more every year just to stay insured. And according to the
Washington State Standard, the average cost of family health care coverage is now about the same as a
new Toyota Corolla hybrid.
That’s groceries. That’s rent. That’s childcare. That’s savings - gone.
Democrats will keep holding the line for affordable health care because no one should have to choose between paying the bills and staying healthy.
