,

I can’t thank you enough for your valued partnership in protecting our election security. As we get closer and closer to Election Day, I want all of our supporters to have the most accurate information possible about the challenges we will be facing ahead of November with the significant increase in absentee voting.

I invited two commissioners with the Election Assistance Commission (EAC), Christy McCormack and Don Palmer, to join me on our weekly Red, White, and True News podcast and share how the recent push for mail-in voting could impact our election. If you aren’t already aware, the EAC is an independent agency that assists in election administration and makes recommendations on how to improve elections across the country.

Christy and Donald discuss the logistical nightmare associated with switching to mail-in ballots so quickly and suggest that to have a successful election with primarily mail-in votes would require a FIVE TO TEN YEAR TRANSITION PERIOD to ensure a fair and responsible election. They go into the long list of logistical requirements to obtain the proper paper for ballots, ensure that each voter gets the correct ballot, clean up registration rules, and then properly process the many ballots with educated volunteers. The transition would be expensive, require significant resources and would ultimately need much more TIME.

Yet, election officials all over the country are assuring voters they can make such changes in only a few months. It’s absurd.

Without the proper precautions, we risk a major threat to election security - a threat that could require intervention by the the Supreme Court. I hope you will tune in to hear about this and more! Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube page so you can be notified when new videos are posted.

Thank you for all you do to keep our elections free, fair, and secure.

Onward!
Catherine
