Put your lawmaker on notice today

Dear Supporter,
According to last week’s announcement, beneficiaries will receive a 2.8 Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) in 2026, which amounts to about an extra $56 in benefits each month. This may seem like a decent bump in benefits, but at a time when the price of virtually everything continues to go up — including housing, groceries, health care and more — this COLA won’t be enough to cover rising costs for most seniors.
Plus, higher Medicare premiums are expected to eat into about half of the COLA increase for 2026!
That’s why I’m asking you to sign our urgent Petition to Congress today ( [link removed] ), putting pressure on your U.S. Senators to immediately pass the “Boosting Benefits and COLAs for Seniors Act” which would help protect millions of older Americans from the ravages of inflation.
This important bill ( [link removed] ) would direct the Social Security Administration to adjust benefits based on the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) rather than Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W), if the CPI-E would result in a larger increase in benefits. This would ensure that seniors get the largest COLA possible to help them contend with the rise in costs they are facing.
It’s ironic that as millionaires, billionaires and huge corporations continue to profit from the tax policies passed in Congress and signed into law by President Trump, America’s seniors are asked to get by with a 2.8% COLA, which is barely enough to pay for a bag of groceries.
The health and financial security of millions of Americans depends on getting a fair and accurate COLA this year and every year.
Please sign our Urgent Petition to Congress today! ( [link removed] )
Sincerely,
Max Richtman
President & CEO
