Sudanese forced to flee brutal violence in El Fasher

Dear John,

You may have seen in the news that Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have entered El Fasher, the capital of Sudan’s North Darfur region. This has forced tens of thousands of people to flee, as brutal violence has escalated after 500 days of relentless siege and conflict.

Our colleagues are meeting thousands of people arriving in the town of Tawila, they are sharing terrifying stories of threats and violence by armed groups, and extortion. Families, especially children are arriving malnourished, sick and traumatized by their perilous journey to safety.

Our colleagues are providing life-saving assistance and essential services to displaced families, including shelter, emergency relief items and counselling. But our resources are stretched thin, we need your urgent donation to deliver more life-saving aid.

We have thousands of relief items in South Darfur ready to be distributed. We are also mobilizing stock across the border in Chad to deliver inside Sudan. At the same time, we are ready to scale up support for new arrivals fleeing to Chad, but resources are limited.

The people of Sudan cannot wait. Please give today.

Thank you for your support and for considering this urgent request.
