Kristi Noem and her de facto chief of staff, noted sex pest Corey Lewandowski, have reassigned the top Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in five US cities — Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Diego — due to insufficient deportation numbers. That's right. We simply aren't rounding up enough marginalized people, separating them from their families, and disappearing them to foreign countries in the dead of night. The Department of Homeland Security was reportedly going to fire the five leaders until acting ICE Director Todd Lyons objected and suggested reassigning them to ICE headquarters instead. By their own estimation, DHS has deported or removed approximately 400,000 human beings this year so far, but clearly that number is nowhere near enough. Maximum cruelty is obviously the point.

"When you take SNAP away, the implications are cataclysmic," Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said. "I assume people are assuming that somebody’s going to stop it before it gets too bad. Well, it’s already too bad. And it’s getting worse." It is SO good to be great again.

As Democrats pummel the state with Yes on 50 advertising, the Republican side of the battle has gone quiet. Major GOP donors and party leaders have effectively vanished from the front lines. Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed to respond to Republican efforts — in Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, and now Indiana — to effectively steal Democratic congressional seats to further insulate and protect Donald Trump from actual accountability in Congress with some good, old-fashioned gerrymandering of his own, and he's getting closer to making good on that threat. Time will soon tell.
